This weekend LCFD Hosted a Rural Water Supply Seminar put on by GBW Associates located out of Maryland. This class was specifically designed to train Firefighters on how to obtain and maintain large volumes of water when a Fire Hydrant is not available to distribute water. The class goal was to maintain a water flow of 1000 GPM for one hour without running out of water. There have been almost 50 classes put on by GBW Associates on this exercise and we were one of the now 5 classes that were able to successfully meet and sometimes during this exceed this achievement. This would not have been possible without the teamwork and involvement from Princeton, McCausland, Dixon, Buffalo, Port Byron and Seaton Fire Department. In addition a Special thank you to the Scott County Fire Chiefs Association and Fol-Da-Tank, without their help this class would not of been possible.
